We defend the rights of citizens serving sentences of deprivation of liberty in prisons, presenting to the prison administration and to the prison supervision judges our clients’ claims regarding permits, progressions in prison level, archiving of disciplinary files, etc.

In this area, we intervene in such important issues as the granting of exit permits, which allow inmates to maintain social and family ties while serving their sentence, as well as in the request for progressions in prison level. These progressions are essential so that inmates can advance within the prison system, achieving a more flexible life regime and oriented towards social reintegration, such as moving from a closed regime to a semi-open one or, finally, to conditional release.

In addition, we are responsible for defending our clients in cases of disciplinary or disciplinary files. These cases can result in severe sanctions within prisons, and our task is to ensure that all the rights of inmates are respected during these procedures, with the aim of achieving the archive of unjust or disproportionate sanctioning cases.

We also advise and represent our clients in matters related to complaints about living conditions within prisons, including issues such as the right to health, hygiene, adequate nutrition and physical integrity. In situations where prison conditions do not meet the minimum standards established by law, we proceed to formulate the relevant complaints before the competent authorities, always ensuring the well-being of our clients.

We also handle appeals and complaints before the Prison Surveillance Judges regarding decisions of the prison administration that affect the situation of inmates, whether due to unjustified denials of permits, arbitrary decisions in the progression of grades or any other action that violates their rights.
